Question regarding Edward Homewood

Question: Why does Elizabeth Russell (Homewood) state that her sister Anne Homewood visited in 1851?. There is no other record of Anne Homewood, and is not listed on her fathers gravestone. Maybe she fell out with the family, and was erased from their story? EDIT: because they are not children of James Homewood, but Edward Homewood.

Anne Homewood (25, spinster, Smarden) married John Hosmer (23, bach, Farmer, Headcorn) 19th December 1859 @ Zion Chapel, Smarden. Fathers Edward Homewood, James Hosmer (Farmer). Wit: Jane Hosmer & John Russell (husband of Anne s sister Elizabeth). Note: Profession of Edward Homewood not recorded (maybe he was not present to answer that question?). } cert

Question: Edward Homewood b.1798 Smarden to James Homewood Snr is the only candidate for their father (searched Ancestry and Familysearch), but he left for America between 1834 & 1836 married to a woman named Sarah. Why did he leave 2 small children behind? Were they illegitimate children of a previous relationship, before he went to USA with sarah?

Also note that a James Hosmer witnessed James Homewoods marraige to Harriet Wood in 1817. So The Hosmer and Homwoods were friendly families.
